500kV circuit-3 transmission line project, Nam Dinh I TPP - Thanh Hoa section is ready for energization

The investor's Acceptance committee for the 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project, Nam Dinh I TPP - Thanh Hoa section had a meeting on the afternoon of June 27^th 2024, in Thanh Hoa province. Mr. Luu Viet Tien - Deputy General Director of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), Chairman of the Acceptance committee, confirmed that the project has met all conditions and is ready for energization.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Le Van Cuong - Standing Member of the Acceptance committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for EVNNPT's 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project, members of the Acceptance committee including representatives from the Northern Vietnam Power Project Management Board (NPMB), Power Transmission Company 1, construction contractors, engineering consultants, supervision consultants, adjustment testing, construction testing, equipment and material suppliers, and the operating unit.

Mr. Luu Viet Tien - EVNNPT Deputy General Director acknowledged the efforts of the NPMB, the project management and operation unit, the units participating in the construction of the project, who have overcome all difficulties in construction conditions and unpredictable weather in recent times to bring the project to completion.

EVNNPT Deputy General Director – Mr. Luu Viet Tien said: The 500kV Nam Dinh I TPP - Thanh Hoa transmission line project is a component project of the 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project that has completed construction according to the approved engineering documents, organized acceptance in accordance with current State regulations on construction quality management, ensuring conditions for putting the project into operation. The project has met all conditions and is ready for energization.

Mr. Luu Viet Tien - EVNNPT Deputy General Director requested NPMB to coordinate with relevant units to energize the project safely. Through acceptance, there are still some minor issues that do not affect energization; NPMB will lead the coordination with relevant units to continue addressing these before handing over the project.

Once completed, the project will help reduce load and avoid overload for existing 500kV transmission lines, ensuring N-1 criteria, especially when transmission capacity is high on the North - Central interface (at times when Northern hydropower plants generate low output). The transmission line also helps increase transmission stability reserve on the North - Central interface, in combination with the 500kV Quang Trach - Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa - Nam Dinh I TPP - Pho Noi transmission lines, contributing to supplementing power from sources in the North Central region to the load center in the Northern region.

The 500kV Nam Dinh I TPP - Thanh Hoa transmission line project is about 74.4 km length with 180 tower foundation positions, passing through Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, and Thanh Hoa provinces. The project commenced construction at the end of October 2023.

According to NPMB, as of June 27^th, 2024, the foundation, grounding, and steel towers have been constructed according to the approved design and have been closely supervised during construction, ensuring quality and technical requirements. The conductors, ground wires, fiber optic cables, and accessories have been installed according to the approved design and manufacturer's guidelines, with close supervision during construction, ensuring quality as per approved design requirements.

The corridor of the route ensures safety distances according to Decree 14/2014/ND-CP dated February 26^th 2014, and Decree 51/2020/ND-CP dated April 21^st 2020, on amending and supplementing some articles of Decree 14/2014/ND-CP of the Government on high-voltage power grid safety protection.

NPMB has organized the construction of the project according to the approved design documents, compiled project completion documents, and organized acceptance of project items in accordance with legal regulations.
