26/11/2025 10:12:36

At 12:30 PM on November 26th 2025, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and the Central Vietnam Power Project Management Board (CPMB), in coordination with relevant units, successfully energized the 220kV Tuong Duong - Do Luong transmission line project.

The project is invested by EVNNPT, with CPMB managing and operating the project, and Power Transmission Company 1 taking over operation. The transmission line was constructed in the communes of Tam Quang, Chau Khe, Con Cuong, Mon Son, Vinh Tuong, Anh Son, Yen Xuan, Cat Ngan and Do Luong in Nghe An province.

The project scale includes construction of 2 new circuits of 220kV transmission line, with a length of approximately 80.66km. Investment in expanding 2 bays of 220kV on the land area on the west side adjacent to the existing 220kV Do Luong  Substation. The 220kV bay expansion at 220kV Do Luong  Substation is implemented on the land area adjacent to the west side of the existing substation in Do Luong commune, Nghe An province.

Upon completion and energization, the project helps enhance power supply stability for loads in Nghe An province; evacuate power from the Nam Mo hydropower plant cluster in Laos, My Ly hydropower plant, Nam Mo 1 hydropower plant and medium & small hydropower plants in the area through 220kV Tuong Duong Substation to the national power system.

The project implementation process encountered many difficulties and challenges in compensation and site clearance, along with weather conditions in the area frequently affected by storms and rain in 2025. However, with close direction from EVNNPT, the united efforts of local authorities in Nghe An province, and the support of local people in areas where the project passes through, the project was completed and reached the finish line more than 1 month earlier than the investment policy approved by the People's Committee of Nghe An province.

The 220kV Tuong Duong - Do Luong transmission line project has been successfully energized

The completion of the project is a practical action by staff and employees of CPMB and EVNNPT to celebrate the 5th EVNNPT Labor Union Congress for the 2025-2030 term, which will be held in early December 2025, and is also a practical action to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the Vietnam Electricity Industry's Traditional Day (December 21, 1954 - December 21, 2025).
