Energization of the 500kV Quang Trach - Doc Soi Transmission Line (Circuit 3)

02/06/2022 00:00:00

At 19:19 on May 31st, the National Power Transmission Company (EVNNPT) and the Central Power Project Management Board (EVNCPMB) coordinated with relevant units to energize the 500kV Quang Trach - Doc Soi transmission line (circuit 3) and the 500kV Quang Trach Distribution Yard.

The 500kV Quang Trach - Doc Soi transmission line project, along with the 500kV Quang Trach Distribution Yard, are part of the 500kV transmission line project circuit 3 (Vung Ang - Quang Trach - Doc Soi - Pleiku 2).

The project is invested by EVNNPT, with EVNCPMB managing the project. The joint venture between Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 4 (EVNPECC4) and the Energy Institute - Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company No 1 provides engineering consulting. Power Transmission Company No.2 provides supervision and operational acceptance.

According to EVNNPT, the energization of the project holds significant importance in enhancing the 500kV power transmission capacity of the national grid system, capacity releasing for renewable energy sources in the region, and ensuring power supply for the southern region, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Da Nang, and surrounding areas.

The completion of this project also acts as a driving force to accelerate the progress of the entire 500kV transmission line project (circuit 3).

Mr. Bui Van Kien, Deputy General Director of EVNNPT, stated that the project implementation encountered various objective factors, such as COVID-19 outbreaks in 2020 and 2021, floods in 2020, land clearance and compensation difficulties.

The project has received regular attention and guidance from the Government, the Prime Minister, ministries, departments, the National Steering Committee for Power Development, and Vietnam Electricity in addressing and resolving obstacles related to land clearance.

The strong involvement of local authorities along the transmission line route has provided the necessary ground for the project implementation.

EVNNPT, EVNCPMB and specialized departments have been present on-site to focus on construction management, problem-solving, and timely handling of any difficulties that arise during the construction process. In some cases, there were reinforcements, additional workforce, equipment for the cable-pulling teams, and timely mobilization of materials during construction process.

During the technical and transmission line corridor acceptance, EVNNPT coordinated with the supervision and engineering consulting units with the principle of "where the construction goes, the acceptance must be completed." Completing the cable-pulling work signifies fulfilling the conditions for energizing and operating the project.

After completing the 500kV Quang Trach - Doc Soi transmission line project, EVNNPT and EVNCPMB will continue allocating resources to complete the remaining 500kV transmission line (circuit 3), the Vung Ang - Quang Trach section.
