Energizing the second component of the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line project

At 2:35 AM on June 18^th 2024, at the 500kV Pho Noi substation, The Northern Vietnam Power Projects Management Board (NPMB) collaborated with related units to successfully energize the expansion of bays 585 and 586 at the 500kV Pho Noi substation and the transmission line section from the two expanded bays to position 319 of the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line project, Nam Dinh I TPP - Pho Noi section, two days ahead of the schedule required by EVNNPT.

The bay expansion component at the 500kV Pho Noi substation is part of the 500kV Nam Dinh I TPP - Pho Noi transmission line project, which is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and managed by NPMB on behalf of EVNNPT.

The engineering consulting component was undertaken by Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 4 (EVNPECC4) ); Minh Quang Mechanical Electrical Joint Stock Company was responsible for construction and equipment installation; National Power Transmission Services Company handled computer configuration, and Power Transmission Company 1 served as the electrical supervision consultant and will be the operating unit.

The bay expansion component at the 500kV Pho Noi substation was constructed on the reserve land area for two 500kV transmission line bays within the existing 500kV Pho Noi Substation premises.

The energization of the bay expansion component at the 500kV Pho Noi substation prepares for the energization of 2 circuits of the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line, Nam Dinh I TPP - Pho Noi section, aimed at strengthening power system interconnection, enhancing stability, and ensuring safe power supply. Additionally, it helps increase stability reserve on the North-Central interface, combined with the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line, Quang Trach - Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa - Nam Dinh I TPP section, contributing to creating a strong link from the power source centers in North Central Vietnam to the load centers in the Northern region. This is an important basis for safe, reliable, stable, and optimal operation of the power system, helping to reduce power system operation costs; Transmitting power from thermal power plants in the North Central region as well as renewable energy plants in the North Central and surrounding areas into the national power system, supplying electricity to load centers in the Northern region.

This is the second component of the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line project to be energized (the first was the expansion of the 500kV Quang Trach substation). The completion of this component is an important motivation for the entire construction site to be determined to complete the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line project, meeting the directive requirements of the Prime Minister.

Energization of the Reactor and Capacitor Installation Project to ensure the loading capacity of the 500kV circuit 3 transmission lines from Quang Trach to Pho Noi, at the 500kV Pho Noi substation Along with energizing the expanded bay section to position 319 of the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line project, Nam Dinh I TPP - Pho Noi section, the Reactor and Capacitor Installation Project to ensure the loading capacity of the 500kV circuit 3 transmission lines from Quang Trach to Pho Noi, with the component of installing 02 500kV - 128MVAr reactors at the 500kV Pho Noi substation, was also successfully energized and put into operation. The component is invested by EVNNPT, with Power Transmission Company 1 representing EVNNPT in project management, EVNPECC4 responsible for engineering; National Power Transmission Services Company handling construction, equipment installation, and computer configuration, and EVN International Joint Stock Company (EVNINTERNATIONAL) as the supervision consultant.
