EVNPECC4 and other parties’ common efforts in commissioning and energizing Vinh Quang 110kV substation and connecting transmission lines in Kien Giang province

At precisely 8 p.m. on July 3, 2023, the Vinh Quang 110kV substation and connecting transmission lines in Kien Giang province were successfully energized and put into operation.

To enhance power supply capacity in order to meet the electricity demand in the Rach Gia city area and neighboring districts of Kien Giang province, in 2022, the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) invested in this project. The Southern Power Project Management Board (SPMB) was assigned to manage and oversee the project. The consortium between Y.K Construction & Trading Co., Ltd. and Systech High Voltage Engineering Development Joint Stock Company carried out the construction.

In addition to the efforts of SPMB, Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 4 (EVNPECC4) - Southern Affiliate, together with specialized departments of EVNSPC, the Southern Regional Load Dispatch Center, Kien Giang Power Company, the SCADA Operations Center, the Southern Electrical Testing Company, etc., cooperated with the investor, contractors, and authorities at all levels to ensure the project completion according to the assigned schedule.

The groundbreaking ceremony occurred on September 6, 2022, in Vinh Quang ward, Rach Gia city, Kien Giang province. The project is designed with two transformers of 40MVA capacity each. This phase focused on installing one 40MVA transformer, with a 32-meter connecting transmission line. The total investment for the project exceeded 66 billion VND, financed through commercial loans and EVNSPC's funds.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the leadership, engineers, and staffs of all involved units, as well as EVNSPC's close supervision of the project, all the connection works were completed on July 3, 2023.

To modernize the operation management, the Vinh Quang 110kV substation and the connecting transmission lines are equipped with SCADA, HMI, and surveillance camera systems,… to enable data acquisition, monitoring, and remote control of devices in the substation, in line with the central management and automation goals of the power sector.

Throughout the project implementation, the related parties closely coordinated with the Compensation Board, the People's Committee of Vinh Quang ward - Rach Gia city, and Kien Giang Power Company; together with the persistent guidance from EVNSPC to accelerate the progress, promptly resolve any obstacles, and ensure the timely energization of the project.
