EVNPECC4 attended ASEAN Wind Energy 2023
From 30 Oct 2023 to 31 Oct 2023 at The Adora Center in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam, ASEAN Wind Energy 2023 event (AWE2023) was held. This event is the ASEAN Largest Wind Energy Exhibition & Conference supporting Onshore & Offshore Wind Value Chain. The Event helps anticipate and manage the changes in the region’s immense wind market, especially covering Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand & Indonesia.
Aiming to lay the groundwork for the development, investment, and partnership across all industrial peers, the event brought together 8,000+ Participants, 100+ Speakers, 120+ Exhibitors & Sponsors. The Mission of AWE2023 is to be the main trading platform for Vietnam, expanding to ASEAN, to bring together international and local players to help ASEAN develop an entire supply chain for the wind industry.
Attending the event, there are representatives of the Embassies of Norway, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and the United States. Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 4 (EVNPECC4) has assigned an expert in wind energy field to discuss with other panellists including Mr. Rajnish Sharma from Equinor, Mr, Niels Steenberg from Siemens Gamesa, Mr, Yinming Dong from Goldwind, Mr. Yasuaki Watanabe from Marubeni Corporation, moderated by Mr. Sameer M. from KPMG on topic of “Strengthening the Role of Wind Energy in Vietnam’s Energy Transition”. EVNPECC4’s representative noted that EVNPECC4 has made a remarkable contribution to the achievement of Renewable Energy’s development in Vietnam to the date.

Energy transition is a very broad topic and one technology may not be enough in achieving the desired objective. At the opening roundtable, some key sub-topics were raised and received valuable open sharing and discussion provided by the panel members as follows:
-The importance of energy transition for Vietnam and its implications on Vietnam economy.
-Renewable technologies, particularly wind technology can assist Vietnam in achieving its net zero transition commitments.
-New policy which can help in accelerating the development of wind energy and the priorities that you would prefer to be addressed from policies and regulations.
-The intermittency of development is an impediment to renewable technologies in playing a more meaningful role in accelerating energy transition.
-The key learnings that Vietnam can take from other developed and developing economies in accelerating energy transition.
-The role of finance in accelerating development of wind assets and some innovative financial solutions that can be suggested for Vietnam to meet the desired objectives.
