EVNPECC4 successfully defended a scientific research about Hydrogen

Hydrogen (H₂) is a very new industry not only in Vietnam but also all around the world. Up to now, this industry has only operated commercially in a few countries with developed technology and economic potential. Using H₂ as a new energy source is a big challenge, however, it is still supported by Governments in many aspects, especially in terms of policy and investment capital.

Vietnam is one of the first countries making a commitment to reach Net-Zero emissions by 2050. To achieve this goal, many fields applying emission reduction technology have been deployed, in which developing H₂ is a correct approach, consistent with the world's general trend. The Power Industry is the largest contributor to emissions, so researching the usage of H₂ is a key and long-term mission.

Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 4 (EVNPECC4) was selected by Vietnam Electricity (EVN) as the Consultant to carry out the scientific research in the field of Hydrogen, as a basis for EVN to come up with a strategy to develop the Hydrogen Industry applying in the whole EVN.

On November 15, 2023, after a period of research, EVNPECC4 successfully defended the project at EVN headquarters - Hanoi. The project analyzes the H₂ application process over the world and in Vietnam, also forecasts the development of this field in the coming years, thereby proposing EVN on a roadmap to apply H₂ for Vietnam's Power Industry.

​The success of the research project is the first step in a very long, but feasible process of developing the H₂ field, contributing to the emission reduction goal as committed by the Government.
