EVNPECC4 welcomes the visit of J-POWER’s delegation

On November 29th 2022, Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 4 (EVNPECC4) and Electric Power Development Co., Ltd (J-POWER) from Japan had a meeting and discussion on cooperation plans in upcoming projects.

Attending the meeting, the representative of EVNPECC4 was Mr. Tran Truong Han - Member of the Board of Directors, Director of Thermal Power & New Energy Engineering Center and other Technical engineers. Representative of J-POWER was Mr. Morikuni MIYAGI - Technical Director, Mr. Takumi SUTO - Investment Director and Mr. Takeshi SHINGAKI - Deputy Technical Director.

Meeting on cooperation plans between EVNPECC4 and J-Power

J-POWER is the largest wholesale power company in Japan and is constantly expanding its market share of power plant capacity in other countries. Currently, J-POWER holds a market share of 26GW of power generation capacity, consisting mainly of hydro power, thermal power and gradually increasing renewable energy.

EVNPECC4 and J-POWER have also worked together for many years in developing LNG and biomass power projects in Vietnam.

Through the exchange of future cooperation plans, J-POWER was impressed with the achievements as well as the milestones thatEVNPECC4 has achieved over the years. Along with that, J-POWER also expressed interest in EVNPECC4's strategic projects in the energy transition pathway such as LNG, biomass, offshore wind power and Hydrogen energy.

Especially with EVNPECC4's evaluations in the upcoming context, Mr. Tran Truong Han proposed issues that J-POWER should consider and pay attention in order to prepare and catch the new trend: Participating in bidding to select investor for projects in the Master plan; Participating in the Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) mechanism; Development trend of Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia.

This meeting continues to strengthen the cooperation relationship between the two parties, opens up new opportunities in order to best exploit the potentials and strengths of each party, contributing to improve the trade mark and operation efficiency in the energy sector in Vietnam.

500kV Hoa Binh Substation Upgraded to 1,800MVA, Strengthening Power Supply for Northern Vietnam Ahead of This Year’s Peak Heat Season

At 20:22 on April 29th 2026, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), in coordination with the Power Transmission Project Management Board (NPTPMB) and the National Power System and Market Operation Co., Ltd. (NSMO), successfully energized the project to upgrade the capacity of the 500kV Hoa Binh Substation, increasing its capacity from 1,350MVA to 1,800MVA.
