EVNPECC4 Youth Union Organized Visits and Gift Giving to Students in Flood-affected Areas of Quang Tri
In response to the call of General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front, and Vietnam Electricity to uphold the tradition of solidarity and mutual support, in November 2020, the Labor Union of EVNPECC4 organized a fundraising campaign to support the people in the Central region affected by storms and floods.
An amount of 136,305,000 VND, equivalent to one day of voluntary salary contribution from the company's employees, was transferred to support the affected people in the region. The Labor Union of the company also allocated 37 million VND for visits and assistance to 16 families of employees who suffered losses due to the storms and floods.
In addition, during the Workers' Conference of the EVNPECC4 on October 29, all employees participated in a donation campaign, raising 28,758,000 VND. The company's leaders and Labor Union then transferred this amount to the representatives of Youth Union to coordinate the distribution with the affected local areas.
Through coordination with the Nha Trang Youth Union and the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union, the Youth Union of the company organized a visit and gift-giving to students from families severely affected by the storms and floods at Linh Truong Primary School and Ben Tat School (Ben Tat Hamlet, Linh Truong Commune, Gio Linh District, Quang Tri Province). These schools have 95 primary school students. The schools are located in mountainous areas, already facing difficulties, and were further affected by the storms and floods, making the situation even more challenging. These schools urgently need support from organizations to overcome the damages and alleviate the difficulties, allowing the students to continue their education.
With the approval of the Gio Linh District People's Committee and the support from the Gio Linh District Youth Union, the Youth Union of the company visited and represented all employees of EVNPECC4 to donate gifts to students from families heavily affected by the storms and floods in the Central region. The value of the donation amounted to 55.3 million VND, including 95 gift packages, 500 notebooks, and support for the school's equipment needs for teaching activities.

During the meeting, the school's administration expressed their gratitude and sincere appreciation to the leadership of the company, the Labor Union, and all employees of EVNPECC4 for their concern, contributions, and assistance in helping the students and the school overcome the difficulties caused by the natural disasters. This act also serves as an educational lesson on the Vietnamese tradition of "the good leaves protect the torn ones" for the students in this area.
On behalf of the Youth Union of the company, Comrade Ho Nam Khanh (Youth Union Secretary) extended New Year wishes for happiness and safety to the teachers, parents, and students of Linh Truong School. He hoped the teachers to overcome difficulties and successfully fulfill their mission of imparting knowledge to the students. He also expected the students to excel in their studies, be diligent, and show filial piety to their grandparents and parents.
