Installation of the signboard for the '220kV Nam Mo - Tuong Duong Transmission Line' to welcome the Congress of Labor Unions at all levels
On March 2nd in Nghe An, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and the Vietnam Electricity Labor Union organized a ceremony to unveil the construction sign of the '220kV Nam Mo - Tuong Duong Transmission Line (within Vietnamese territory)' to welcome the upcoming Congress of Labor Unions at all levels towards the 6th Congress of the Vietnam Electricity Labor Union, term 2023-2028.
The event was attended by Mr. Pham Hong Phuong - Deputy General Director of EVN, representing the leadership of Vietnam Electricity, and Mr. Uong Quang Huy - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Labor Union, representing the Vietnam Electricity Labor Union.
The 220kV Nam Mo - Tuong Duong transmission line project (within Vietnamese territory) is invested by Vietnam Electricity, with Project Management Board 1 responsible for operation and supervision.
The project, which commenced on November 28, 2021, involves the construction of approximately 74.4km of double-circuit 220kV transmission line from the Vietnam-Laos border to the 220kV Tuong Duong Substation. It is the second power transmission project serving electricity import from Laos (following the 220kV Xekaman 1 - Pleiku 2 transmission line).
The 220kV Nam Mo - Tuong Duong transmission line (within Vietnamese territory) is a vital power transmission project aimed at fulfilling the bilateral commitments between the governments of Vietnam and Laos in the field of energy development and the implementation of the signed power purchase agreement. It also contributes to ensuring power supply for the country's socio-economic development, especially timely supplementing electricity for the northern region in the coming years.
According to Mr. Bui Phuong Nam - Director of Project Management Board 1, the project implementation was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as challenging terrain and harsh climate conditions. However, with close attention and timely guidance from EVN, the EVN Labor Union, local authorities' support, and the residents' agreement, Project Management Board 1 has completed the project.
This transmission line has connected with the line invested by Laos and is ready to proceed with the following tasks to energize the entire line and transmit electricity from Laos to Vietnam.
During the ceremony, Mr. Uong Quang Huy - Vice Chairman of EVN Labor Union, praised and highly evaluated the efforts of Project Management Board 1, suppliers of equipment and materials, construction contractors, design consultants, and supervision consultants who have worked day and night to complete the project with high quality and safety.
This is also the first project to install a construction sign to welcome the Congress of Labor Unions towards the 6th Congress of Vietnam Electricity Labor Union, term 2023-2028.
