Investment of VND 3,000 billion to develop a waste-to-energy plant in Khanh Son
On the morning of March 19th, the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank), in coordination with Vietnam Environment Joint Stock Company (a member of the Amaccao Group), held a signing ceremony for a credit agreement and an insurance contract to implement the Khanh Son waste-to-energy plant project (Hoa Khanh Ward, Da Nang City).

The project is invested by Vietnam Environment Joint Stock Company with a total investment of VND 3,000 billion.
The plant will cover an area of 93,874 m², with a waste treatment capacity of 1,100 tons per day and a power generation capacity of 18 MW, utilizing Germany’s Martin waste-to-energy incineration technology.
In addition to the main facility, the project includes auxiliary components such as a pumping station, raw water supply system, and a 22 kV medium-voltage transmission line connecting to the national grid.
To date, the investor has largely completed temporary works and supporting facilities for construction. The on-site operation office, technical infrastructure, and accommodation for staff and workers have been put into operation, meeting lodging needs for approximately 500 personnel throughout the project implementation period.
The main plant is expected to officially commence construction in Q2 2026 and be completed for commercial operation in Q2 2027.
To ensure progress, quality, and project efficiency, Vietnam Environment Joint Stock Company has requested Agribank to arrange a credit facility of up to VND 1,500 billion. Agribank’s Bac Yen Bai Branch acts as the lead arranger, in coordination with the South Da Nang Branch, to execute the credit agreement with the investor.
At the same event, the investor also signed a project insurance contract with ABIC to ensure financial safety during project implementation.
Once operational, the Khanh Son waste-to-energy plant will help reduce pressure on waste treatment in Da Nang, mitigate environmental pollution, increase electricity output for the national grid, and support the city’s economic, cultural, and social development.
