Mobilizing resources, accelerating progress on two power transmission projects in Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen Provinces

17/06/2025 11:40:59

Deputy General Director of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan and the accompanying working delegation have recently inspected construction sites and urged progress on the 220kV Ninh Hoa (Van Ninh) Substation and connecting transmission line project (Khanh Hoa Province) as well as the capacity upgrade project for the 220kV Tuy Hoa Substation (Phu Yen Province).

Both projects are invested by EVNNPT, managed by the Power Transmission Project Management Board (NPTPMB), and will be operated by Power Transmission Company No. 3. Notably, Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 4 (EVNPECC4) is responsible for the engineering and construction supervision of the 220kV Ninh Hoa (Van Ninh) Substation and its transmission line, and for the engineering of the capacity upgrade project for the 220kV Tuy Hoa Substation.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan – EVNNPT’s Deputy General Director and the working group received a progress report on the 220kV Ninh Hoa (Van Ninh) Substation and connecting transmission line project

The 220kV Ninh Hoa (Van Ninh) Substation and connecting transmission line project is located in Suoi Hang Village, Van Khanh Commune, Van Ninh District, Khanh Hoa Province.

The project includes the installation of one 220/110/22kV - 250MVA power transformer. The 220kV switchyard is configured with a double busbar scheme with a transfer bus and includes 10 feeder bays, of which 6 are being equipped in this phase. The 110kV switchyard also follows a double busbar scheme with a transfer bus, comprising 15 bays, with equipment being installed for 6 bays in this phase.

For the connecting transmission line section, a 220kV transmission line, 04 circuits, approximately 250m long will be constructed to connect to the 220kV Tuy Hòa – Nha Trang transmission line.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan - Deputy General Director and the delegation presented gifts to motivate construction teams working on the 220kV Ninh Hoa (Van Ninh) Substation and connecting transmission line project

According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Anh - Deputy Director of NPTPMB, the project is currently on track with the approved schedule. Construction of control building, guard house, shift dormitory, site leveling, fire-fighting reservoirs, cable trenches, and other civil works has reached nearly 100% completion.

The transformer and primary equipment have been installed, while secondary equipment installation is ongoing. In parallel, primary equipment testing began on June 8th, 2025. Two 220kV towers for the transmission line have been erected.

The 220kV Tuy Hoa  Substation capacity upgrade project is being implemented within the premises of the existing 220kV Tuy Hoa  Substation in Mau Lam Bac Village, Hoa Quang Bac Commune, Phu Hoa District, Phu Yen Province. The project involves replacing the existing AT2 220/110/22kV-125MVA transformer with a new 220/110/22kV-250MVA unit; installing one additional 110kV outgoing feeder bay; upgrading the control-protection system, SCADA, and metering systems compatible with the new transformer; and modifying the fire protection system to suit the new transformer’s specifications.

Upon completion, the project will ensure stable and reliable long-term power supply to meet the increasing load demand in Phu Yen Province, thereby supporting socio-economic development in the region. It will also enhance grid stability, safe and flexible operation, and reduce both power and energy losses across the transmission network.

The project is being accelerated in construction progress of various items and equipment installation at the substation.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan inspected construction progress at the 220kV Tuy Hoa  Substation capacity upgrade project

During the site inspection, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan acknowledged and commended the efforts of NPTPMB and other project stakeholders for their commitment and responsibility in executing substantial workloads.

Emphasizing that these are 2 projects of great importance to meet load demand and ensure operation for 110kV transmission lines and  substations in Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen Provinces, ensuring stable power supply to meet the socio-economic development needs of Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen Provinces. They will enhance stability, safe and flexible operation in the power grid, reduce power losses and energy losses in the transmission grid.

Therefore, the EVNNPT’s Deputy General Director required NPTPMB to regularly urge participating project units during construction to strictly comply with technical specifications and regulations; manage occupational safety, health and environmental work well; ensure construction work quality.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan presented gifts to encourage construction units at the 220kV Tuy Hoa  Substation capacity upgrade project

The EVNNPT’s Deputy General Director required NPTPMB to direct construction units and supervision consulting units to strengthen and mobilize forces, coordinate closely with the Project Management Board and related units to construct ensuring quality and on schedule according to EVNNPT's direction. Strengthen work on approving remaining materials, deploy construction early to avoid approaching rainy and stormy weather. Strive to complete energization of these 2 projects before August 2025 to practically celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2nd.

During the construction site inspection, representatives of construction contractors committed to arrange appropriate resources, construct ensuring safety, achieving quality and on schedule, meeting the objectives set by the investor.
