Signboard mounting for project Van Phong 500kV substation and connection line to welcome the 8th Congress of Vietnam Trade Union
On April 7, 2023, in Khanh Hoa, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in collaboration with the Vietnam Electricity (EVN), the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) organized a ceremony for mounting the project signboard at Vietnam General Confederation of Labor level for the project "Van Phong 500kV substation and connection line". This project aims to welcome the 8th Congress of Vietnam Trade Union for the term of 2023 - 2028.

Overcoming difficulties
The scale of Van Phong 500kV substation and connection line project is composed of installing 2 new 900MVA transformers; 6 500kV feeders; 13 220kV feeders; building a 26.1 km long 220kV transmission line from Van Phong 500kV substation to Van Phong 220kV substation and connected to one circuit of Van Phong - Tuy Hoa 220kV transmission line.
The project started construction in September 2021. According to the schedule agreed with the project owner of Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant, this project must be completed before December 26, 2022. The construction duration of this project is very short compared to other projects of similar size and nature. After 14 months of rush implementation on the construction site, the project was completed, energized and put into operation on November 28, 2022, ahead of schedule.
The project's energizing ensures a safe and uninterrupted power supply to Khanh Hoa province and neighboring provinces; meets the electricity demand for the key economic region of the South Central Coast; absorbs the capacity of Van Phong 1 BOT thermal power plant and renewable energy stations in Ninh Thuan, Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces; contributing to ensuring the N-1 criterion, strengthening the stability of the power system, improving the reliability and safety of power supply for the national power system.

At the ceremony, many collectives and individuals who had achieved excellent achievements in the emulation movement to complete the project on schedule were awarded Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Commission for Management of State Capital at Enterprises, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, EVN, Vietnam Electricity Trade Union.
