The project includes two transformers with a total capacity of 2x40MVA. In this phase, one transformer (1x40MVA) has been installed, with a reserved space for a second transformer in the future. The length of the connecting line to the 110kV Thanh An – Ben Cat substation is 150m. The substation occupies an area of 2,891m2, with a total investment of approximately VND 57.636 billion, funded by commercial credit sources. The Southern Power Project Management Board was assigned by EVNSPC to manage and operate the project.

Once operational, the substation will supply electricity to the An Lap Industrial Cluster, Dau Tieng District, and surrounding areas, including Bau Bang District and Ben Cat Town in Binh Duong Province. It will also connect and transfer power for the 110kV Dau Tieng, An Tay, and Thanh An substations in case of incidents while shortening power supply radius, improving voltage quality, and minimizing energy loss in the local distribution network. Furthermore, the project ensures grid reliability meeting N-1 criterion, contributing to the socio-economic development of Ben Cat Town and Binh Duong Province.

The timely completion of the project was achieved thanks to the strong leadership of the Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, the support from the Dau Tieng District People's Committee and Tan Phuoc Ward People's Committee, as well as close coordination among the Southern Power Project Management Board, Binh Duong Power Company, EVNPECC4, Viet Power Construction Service Trading Company Limited, Southern Electrical Testing Company and the South Regional Load Dispatch Centre.
Commissioning of 110kV Thanh An Substation, Binh Duong Province
On February 25th EVNSPC successfully energized the 110kV Thanh An Substation in Binh Duong Province. The substation is located on DT744 Road, Thanh An Industrial Cluster, Co Trach Hamlet, Thanh An Commune, Dau Tieng District, Binh Duong Province.
The project commenced on December 25th 2023, and consists of two transformers with a total capacity of 2x40MVA. In this phase, one transformer (1x40MVA) has been installed, with a reserved space for a second transformer in the future. The substation covers an area of 2,714m2, with a total investment of nearly VND 70 billion, funded by commercial credit sources and EVNSPC’s equity capital. The Southern Power Project Management Board was assigned by EVNSPC to manage and operate the project.

Once energized and put into operation, the project will supply electricity to Thanh An Industrial Cluster, the demand loads in Dau Tieng District, and surrounding areas in Bau Bang District and Ben Cat Town. It will also connect and transfer power for the 110kV Dau Tieng and An Tay substations in case of incidents, reduce supply radius, improve voltage quality, and minimize energy loss in the local distribution network. Additionally, it will ensure grid reliability according to N-1 criterion, fostering socio-economic growth in Thuan An City and Binh Duong Province.

The substation is located at the corner of Bach Dang (D5) Street and Road No. 31 in the expanded VSIP2 Industrial Park, Vinh Tan Commune, Tan Uyen Town, Binh Duong Province.
The project consists of two transformers with a total capacity of 2x63MVA, a connection line with a total length of 7.524km, and an area of 3,186m2 for the substation. The total investment is approximately 152 billion VND, funded by EVNSPC’s basic depreciation and commercial loans. The Southern Power Project Management Board was assigned by EVNSPC to manage and operate the project.

The objective of the 110kV Vinh Loi Substation is to meet the power demand of the expanding VSIP Industrial Park, Thu Dau Mot City, and Binh Duong Service Urban Area. The project also reduces the 22kV medium-voltage power supply radius, minimizes energy loss, and enhances grid reliability. Additionally, the substation improves operational flexibility by allowing load transfers among the 110/22kV substations within the area, supporting power capacity sharing with the 110kV VSIP2MR1 and 110kV Cong Xanh substations.
