The 500kV Quang Trach - Doc Soi transmission line project is ready for technical commissioning
The Technical Acceptance Council of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) conducted the technical commissioning of the 500kV Quang Trach - Doc Soi transmission line project and the 500kV Quang Trach Substation on May 30, 2022, in Quang Binh province. Mr. Bui Van Kien, Deputy General Director of EVNNPT and Chairman of the Acceptance Council affirmed that the project is ready for technical commissioning.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Khuong The Anh, Deputy Head of Construction Management Department (Vietnam Electricity), specialized departments of EVNNPT, Central Power Project Management Board, construction contractors, engineering consultants, supervision consultants, testing and calibration, construction testing, equipment and material suppliers, and operation management unit.
During the meeting, Deputy General Director of EVNNPT, Mr. Bui Van Kien, acknowledged the efforts of The Central Power Projects Management Board (EVNCPMB) - the project management and operation unit, as well as the participating units involved in the construction of the project, in overcoming challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and floods in recent years to bring the project to completion.
Mr. Bui Van Kien, Deputy General Director of EVNNPT stated: "The 500kV Quang Trach - Doc Soi transmission line project and the 500kV Quang Trach Substation have completed construction work according to approved design documents and have undergone acceptance tests in compliance with the current regulations and decrees of the state regarding the quality management of construction projects, ensuring the conditions for putting the projects into operation. The project meets the requirements and is ready for electrical commissioning and technical acceptance."
Mr. Bui Van Kien, Deputy General Director of EVNNPT, requested EVNCPMB to coordinate with relevant units to ensure the safety of the electrical commissioning. After the acceptance tests, some minor issues do not affect the electrical commissioning. EVNCPMB will lead in coordinating with the relevant units to address these issues before handing over the project.

The 500kV Quang Trach - Doc Soi transmission line project is constructed over the provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Da Nang city.
CPMB reported that as of May 30, 2022, the foundation, grounding, and steel columns were constructed according to the approved design and closely monitored during construction to ensure quality and technical requirements. The conductor wires, lightning protection, fiber optic cables, and accessories were also installed according to the approved design and manufacturer's instructions, with strict supervision during construction to ensure quality compliance with the approved design.
The transmission line corridor ensures a safe distance according to Decree 14/2014/NĐ-CP dated February 26, 2014, and Decree 51/2020/NĐ-CP dated April 21, 2020, which amend and supplement some provisions of Decree 14/2014/NĐ-CP of the Government on the safety protection of high-voltage power grids.
The optical repeater stations were constructed according to the approved design and closely monitored during construction to ensure quality and technical requirements.
The project involves the construction of a double-circuit 500kV transmission line with a length of 500.14 km from the Quang Trach 500kV substation to the Doc Soi 500kV substation. It includes the construction of three optical repeater stations along the transmission line to amplify and transmit information signals and the construction of three operation management buildings for the transmission team.
CPMB has organized the construction of the 500kV Quang Trach - Doc Soi transmission line project and the 500kV Quang Trach Substation following the approved design documents, gathering complete documentation of the completed project and conducting the acceptance testing of the project components in compliance with legal regulations.
