The Ministry of Industry and Trade requests units to coordinate in organizing Earth Hour 2024

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued official document No. 1168/BCT-TKNL dated February 26th 2024 sent to the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) on coordinating to organize activities in response to the Earth Hour Campaign 2024.

The lights-off event will take place from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM on Saturday, March 23rd  2024

The Ministry of Industry and Trade requests the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to organize communication activities in March to respond to Earth Hour, aiming to attract the attention of a wide range of organizations, companies, and local people in the province or city to participate in the campaign.

The activities in response to Earth Hour need to be integrated with the local power saving program implementing Directive No. 20/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on enhancing power saving in the period 2023-2025 and subsequent years (Directive No. 20); calling for organizations, companies and local people to turn off lights and unnecessary equipment during the lights-off event in response to Earth Hour.

The Ministry requests Vietnam Electricity to direct its corporations and power companies in provinces and cities to coordinate in propagating at transaction points, headquarters; carry out activities in response to Earth Hour in combination with implementing the tasks assigned in Directive No. 20. At the same time, encourage organizations, companies, and customers to turn off unnecessary electrical equipment during the event. EVN's subsidiaries are responsible for ensuring power grid safety during the event.
