On May 20th 2024, Mr. Do Duc Hung - Chairman of Vietnam Electricity’s Labor Union, and a working delegation visited and encouraged the units participating in the construction of the 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project: Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa and Nam Dinh I TPP - Pho Noi sections, on the occasion of the 2024 Workers' Month.

Dedicating significant resources to care for union members and workers

The 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project, from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen), has a total length of approximately 519 km, passing through 211 communes and wards of 43 districts and towns in 9 provinces: Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, and Hung Yen.

The project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) under Vietnam Electricity (EVN). With a total of 1,177 tower foundations and an estimated investment of around 22,300 billion VND, the project had completed 1,147/1,177 foundation positions, erected 601/1,177 towers, and strung wires across 21 anchor spans as of the evening of May 20th, 2024.

Mr. Do Duc Hung - Chairman of EVN’s Labor Union and the working delegation visited and encouraged the construction units, site supervision consultants of the 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project.

Given the importance of the project, in February 2024, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Vietnam Electricity launched a 120-day race to completion by June 2024, following the directive of the Prime Minister.

At the encouragement session for workers involved in the project's construction, Mr. Do Duc Hung - Chairman of EVN’s Labor Union stated: The 500kV circuit-3 transmission line projects from Quang Trach to Pho Noi are urgent and high-priority projects that play a crucial role in ensuring power supply for the Northern region during the upcoming hot season.

In accordance with the directives of the Prime Minister, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and EVN’s Labor Union, EVNNPT’s Labor Union and labour union at all levels have organized numerous visits, encouragement sessions, and gift presentations for the units participating in the project.

The working delegation gave encouragement to construction units and site supervision consultants participating in the 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project.

“With the attention of the Government, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and labor unions at all levels, it can be affirmed that the best resources have been allocated to the project thus far," the Chairman of EVN’s Labor Union emphasized.

Progress in parallel with safety

To create an enthusiastic emulation atmosphere and encourage the participating units to unite, raise their sense of responsibility, overcome difficulties, and foster a creative working spirit to bring the project to completion, on May 15th 2024, the General Director and Standing Committee of EVNNPT’s Labor Union launched the "45 Days and Nights" Campaign to complete the 500kV circuit-3 transmission line projects from Quang Trach to Pho Noi.

Chairman of EVN’s Labor Union – Mr. Do Duc Hung gave encouragement to construction units and site supervision consultants participating in the 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project.

Currently, the project construction areas are experiencing hot weather and erratic rain and storms. Therefore, the leadership of EVN’s Labor Union requested that the participating units continue to make greater efforts, implement construction tasks in a synchronized manner across all sites and along the entire line to ensure progress according to the Prime Minister's directive of energizing the project by June 30th, 2024.

During construction, special attention must be paid to the safety of personnel and equipment. It is crucial to strive for the best performance in assigned tasks according to respective positions to ensure construction progress and quality assurance. The specialized management and labor unions should regularly care for, encourage, and support union members and workers involved in the project.

Construction units are actively erecting towers and are determined to complete the project in June 2024

The Chairman of  EVN’s Labor Union urged the project investor's representatives to regularly inspect and remind contractors about adhering to regulations on occupational safety and environmental hygiene at construction sites, ensuring absolute safety, especially under conditions of high construction intensity, overtime work, and unpredictable weather.
