In mid-July, barges loaded with equipment continued tirelessly crossing the sea waves to build the national power grid connecting to Con Dao. During the journey of hundreds of kilometers across the sea, the team of engineers and workers is working day and night to complete one of the most special energy projects.

At the 5th Patriotic Emulation Congress of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), held on 30/06/20205, Comrade Huynh Thanh Xuan - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor expressed his confidence that: Vietnam Electricity will continue to promote the tradition of patriotic emulation, maintain its role as the leading unit of the state-owned enterprise sector in organizing practical, effective, in-depth and sustainable emulation movements, contributing to the successful implementation of the country's strategic targets. Deputy General Director of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan and the accompanying working delegation have recently inspected construction sites and urged progress on the 220kV Ninh Hoa (Van Ninh) Substation and connecting transmission line project (Khanh Hoa Province) as well as the capacity upgrade project for the 220kV Tuy Hoa Substation (Phu Yen Province).

On June 7th, Package No. 1 of the 500kV Lao Cai – Vinh Yen transmission line project (implemented by the joint venture of Song Da Construction and Service Joint Stock Company – PC1 Group Joint Stock Company – Dong Anh Steel Tower Co., Ltd.) officially completed foundation excavation and concreting at all 51 out of 51 tower locations. This is the first package of the entire project to overcome numerous challenges and reach this critical progress milestone.

The program was held in-person at EVN headquarters and connected online to 25 sites of EVN's affiliated corporations and units.

On May 1st, EVN’s Vice President – Mr. Pham Hong Phuong visited the construction site of the Bac Ai Pumped-Storage Hydropower Plant (Ninh Thuan province) to inspect the construction progress. He also visited and encouraged the collective of staff and workers of the Project Management Board, Power Project Management Board 3 (EVNPMB3), and the joint venture contractors.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son has just signed Decision No. 768/QD-TTg dated April 15, 2025, of the Prime Minister approving the Adjustment of the National Power Development Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050 (Power Plan VIII).
